There are no longer organic or certified organic ingredients.

Here are just two ingredients you don’t want anywhere near your vagina but are in this formula of sensitive wash… 

Propylene glycol- This ingredient has many functions, including acting as a humectant, preservative, and more. It can cause some vaginal irritation. There’s also a lot of alarm about propylene glycol because it’s sometimes used “as a base for deicing systems,” aka antifreeze. 

Ethylhexylglycerin- not safe due to its performance as a contact allergen. People with sensitive skin and an existing skin condition are more likely to be impacted byproducts containing this ingredient. However, anyone can be exposed to the possibility of dermatitis and skin irritation as a result of ethylhexylglycerin. 

For safer alternatives to Honeypot try Cora, l organic and Rael Organic as far as feminine wash- your body doesn’t need that and there isn’t a good one on the market- they alter your body’s natural ph and more.

Here are a few things to note about a few of these brands

🚫 Tubby Todd -  ingredients can lead to dermatitis, eczema, various forms of cancer, hormonal imbalance, and reproductive concerns.
🚫Method - owned by S.C.Johnson,  ingredients can cause allergies, eczema, immunotoxicity, organ system toxicity, neurotoxicity and has endocrine disrupters. 
🚫 Love Beauty & Planet - owned by Unilever, ingredients can lead to cancer, developmental and reproductive toxicity, allergies, skin conditions, immunotoxicity, and has endocrine disrupters. 
🚫Blackgirl Sunscreen- Ingredients can cause immunotoxicity, cancer, enhanced skin absorption, Non-reproductive organ system toxicity, burns, allergies, has endocrine disrupters 
🚫 Seventh generation- owned by uniliever, their imgycan cause allergic reactions, lung toxicity, and neurotoxicity. Organ system toxicity, has endocrine disrupters, and contamination concerns.
🚫Honeypot- allergies , immunotoxicity, non-reproductive organ system toxicity, irritation to skin, eyes, or lungs and more. 
🚫Grove- ingredients can lead to organ system toxicity, enhanced skin absorption, contamination concerns, irritation of skin, eyes and lungs, has endocrine disrupters, allergies, non-reproductive organ system toxicity. 

 All of these fall on different parts of the spectrum as far as greenwashing. This list is to simply give you an idea and not all encompassing. This list is the BRAND as a whole.

A lot of companies will tug on your heartstrings as they advertise their diapers, wipes, and other baby essentials. Even I am a sucker for a catchy Huggies commercial. 

But, many of these same companies are using harmful ingredients and needlessly exposing babies to toxins, allergens, and irritants. The products we use on our kid’s delicate skin can make a huge difference in the amount of toxins they are exposed too. If they have asthma, allergies, and so many other diseases. Most of the things on the market have no business on anyones skin let alone a babies.

A few toxic ingredients found in the baby wipes listed - 

🚫 Ethoxylated Ingredients (ingredients ending in -eth, polysorbate, PEGs, etc.) - very likely contaminated with the carcinogen 1,4 Dioxane.
🚫 Grapefruit Seed Extract - highly contaminated with triclosan, methylparaben, & benzethonium chloride.
🚫 Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate - an ammonium compound that can be irritating to skin
🚫 Tocopheryl Acetate - synthetic Vitamin E & can also be contaminated with hydroquinone.
🚫EDTA - increases absorption (only bad when paired with toxic ingredients)
🚫Polysorbate 20-can be contaminated with potentially dangerous by-products known to cause skin reactions and allergies
🚫Propylene glycol and other petroleum-based ingredients- can be contaminated and/or lead to skin irritations and other health concerns.

Healing is not linear. I used to think there was Healing is not linear.

I used to think there was a picture perfect image of health. Maybe you can relate…

Mindful morning routines consisting of green smoothies and journaling. Every single meal fully prepped, totally balanced, and in whole food form. Walking a minimum of 10,000 steps per day. Supplement routine down pat. In bed, lights out by 10pm and up and at ‘em by 6. Having a trainer cutting food groups. Physical health, mental health, and emotional health in-check at all times… no exceptions.

This image of healing is really just every “healthy routine” goal stuffed into one flawless vision. And if I veered from this perfect version of myself, I felt like I was letting my body down. 

But I have to let you in on a little secret… it’s not realistic to do everything, all at once, all the time. I am human. And YOU are human. 
Achieving all of this doesn’t happen overnight and even once you reach a period of time where your routines are on point, there will be inevitable highs and lows. Also know this stuff isn’t for everyone. 

Right now this season of life for me looks like sleepless nights with my five kids, searching for pockets of time throughout the day to rest. It looks like reaching for healthier versions of convenient food and cooking once a day. It’s doing my best to get out of the house, even if it means my walks are far briefer when lugging a stroller (& a million other things) along with me. 

While I’m not the perfect picture of health at all times, in seasons like this I always try my best to stick to the basics. I still avoid my food sensitivity triggers, I use non toxic ingredients for our family. I get rest as much as I can, I drink plenty of filtered water, and I move my body in smart ways. 

Healing doesn’t have to be overwhelming. If you’re at a dip on your healing journey, I suggest taking a step back and reminding yourself it is all part of the process. Sometimes enjoying the moment and shifting your focus or what your vision is… is the best thing for you 💓
